A new law which came into effect in April requires all employers to offer at least one affordable insurance plan, in a move that was welcomed by many but opposed by the government.

The government is seeking to improve access to healthcare in the wake of the NHS being under pressure from a shortage of primary care doctors and hospitals in some parts of the country.

The new law requires employers to have at least five employees with the same coverage.

The law is also expected to make it easier for employers to get insurance cover for staff.

It also comes at a time when health care costs are being raised by employers, prompting a call for employers who are struggling to keep up with growing healthcare costs to step up to the plate and offer employees the same healthcare coverage as their co-workers.

Healthcare cost ‘crisis’ The Health and Social Care Act aims to reduce the number of people who are living in poverty by 20% by 2020.

But the legislation is already facing criticism from health organisations, who argue that it will lead to more people being left in poverty, especially in deprived areas.

More than half of the UK’s poorest people live in inner-city areas, where the average cost of a household’s basic healthcare is £1,150. 

A new report from the health think tank the Centre for Policy Studies (CP) said the cost of healthcare in England is now “crisis”, with only a “small” number of patients being covered by private insurance.

CP’s report, which examined the impact of the changes, said there was a “dramatic” difference in the number that people in private insurance, and who are covered by the state, are covered.

In contrast, the report said, around 1 in 4 NHS patients are covered in private health insurance, compared to only 1 in 5 in the NHS.
