If you live in or visit the metro Atlanta area, you’re eligible for the Geico rental-insurance policy.
If you don’t have a policy, your rental-in-place insurance can be covered for up to $1,000, according to the Georgia Department of Insurance.
That’s on top of the rental-out insurance you’ll pay for your home.
You’re not covered if you live outside of the metro area.
You can use your policy to buy a new vehicle or to buy insurance on your home that covers damage from natural disasters or other events that occur in the metro.
If you have a rental-permit policy, the policy can also cover a vehicle rental for up a total of up to 10 years.
You can’t use your rental policy for damage to your rental vehicle or damage to property that would make it unsafe to live in.
